So these could be swapped out at any time. This one is the most expendable, as I do have Tenchu 2 sitting in a box alongside Tomb Raider II. I just grabbed it because I had played all of the other games on the Mega Drive and really enjoyed them, so I gave it a punt.

I haven’t played it but I own it, so due to limited space restrictions it fills out the collection. Now this one is an entry due to the fact I bought it recently. Most people would be put off by the controls but persevere and it turns into a really enjoyable game. It is ugly, the controls are weird and the announcer in the races is irritating as all hell, but I can’t help but come back to this game time after time. It was a lot more action-orientated and far fewer puzzles, and probably suited me more at that time.Ĭool Boarders 2. Honestly, I enjoyed the first game up until I got lost or stuck on a puzzle and I gave up, but when 2 came out it was a different experience.

THPS also led the way for mounds of other extreme sport games like Dave Mirra (RIP) BMX and Shaun White Snowboarding to gain some traction in the games market. Is it just me or were they probably the best collection of tracks ever? You might not remember them all but I would bet everyone that played the games will have a favourite that they still know today. I can’t leave the THPS series without mentioning the soundtracks. In the game, grinding, flipping, and grabbing away ‘til my heart was content in and around the world’s skating hotspots. I couldn’t stand on a board in real life on a flat surface with someone holding me up, but that didn’t stop me. Coming out when skateboarding was the height of popularity, this series of games was always great for someone like me. It is what gaming should be: fun, frustrating, and great with other people.
